Blair Turner

Senior Road Safety Specialist

Blair is a road safety expert with almost 30 years of experience in the transport sector. He has held positions with the New Zealand and UK governments, and in consultancy and research.

In his current role with GRSF, Blair provides road safety support to governments across different regions, and leads GRSF's work on improving speed management in low and middle-income countries. In his previous role he led research at the Australian Road Research Board on road safety engineering issues, with a particular focus on speed management and implementing Safe System infrastructure solutions. He has also developed a number of national guides, as well as led or contributed to various global road safety documents.

Blair is a member of several international road safety committees, and has been involved in a variety of international road safety projects, including as lead author and project manager for the World Road Association's Guide to Road Safety. He has also been actively involved in training safety professionals from across the world. Blair holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
